Scholarship Recipient Process 2019
The Estero Chamber of Commerce Scholarships are awarded in honor of Meg Judge, Founder of the Estero Chamber of
Commerce. In honor of her commitment and service, three graduating high school seniors with outstanding promise
attending school in Estero, living in Estero or a parent who is employed by a member company of the Estero Chamber of
Commerce will each receive a $2,000 scholarship. A fourth scholarship may be presented to a student who has
completed their freshman year of higher education and is continuing their field of study. Scholarships will be awarded to
students who are in good academic standing, have a desire to continue their education in a trade school or college, and
have participated in leadership in school and community activities.
- A completed application and an essay describing why you are interested in your vocation, how it will serve you
and your community, and how it will assist you in attaining your personal goals. Also discuss in your essay any
challenges or obstacles you have overcome in life and how this will help you succeed in college and beyond. This
essay must be typed, double spaced, and no more than two pages.
- Brief essay describing your community service and the importance of social responsibility. Provide the name of
the community service organization, contact name and telephone number. Provide the number of hours per
week you spend doing this activity.
- An official high school transcript with grades.
Provide one non-relative reference letter and one Teacher/School reference letter with your application.
The following venues will be used to promote the availability of the scholarship
- Chamber Website: The scholarship information and application will be posted on the chamber website. The application will be available to download and print.
- Press Releases: The Chamber will create a press release regarding the availability of the scholarship to all media outlets.
- Guidance Counselors
Instructions will be included to mail the application and all necessary information to the Chamber office for review by the board.

Applications received in the Chamber office will be recorded as received and assigned a number making all applications anonymous before passing the information to the Scholarship Committee. The Committee will review and present the final applications to the board. Applications must be received by April 30th, 2019. Candidates will be selected during the May board meeting and will then be announced at the June Annual Luncheon.
