Far Right: Cliff Brand, President Greater Estero Chamber of Commerce; Bill Ribble, Lee County School Board and Chamber Board Member; and Assistant Principal Tim Docherty

The scholarship presentation highlighted the ongoing partnership between the Estero business community and local students. In addition to financial support, Chamber members regularly volunteer their time mentoring students in entrepreneurial programs, coaching, participating in job expos, and helping prepare the next generation for success in the workforce.

This year’s scholarship awards represent a 90% increase in scholarship funding from the Chamber for Estero High School students alone. The Chamber will continue its commitment to local education on May 14 during Bonita Springs High School’s awards presentation, where another ten students will collectively receive an additional $10,000 in scholarships.

“These scholarships are an investment in the future of our community,” said Cliff Brand. “The support of our members, sponsors, and fundraising events makes it possible for us to help local students pursue higher education and future careers right here in Southwest Florida.”

The Chamber noted that many scholarship recipients plan to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, which contributes significantly to the region’s workforce, with approximately half of its graduates remaining in the local area after graduation.

Scholarship funding is made possible through community support of Chamber fundraising events, including EsteroFest and the Greater Estero Chamber Golf Tournament. The Chamber is grateful to our members, Board and community for supporting these efforts.
